Finally finished

Back on Sept. 3, I posted that I had started reading James Joyce's Ulysses. I finally finished it a couple of nights ago. It took me over three months to read.

I've heard it said that that's the most readable of his books. If so....wow.

I'm glad to have read it just for the sake of exposure to his style, but it was hard to read through some parts of it (hard as in difficult at times, and hard as in personally distasteful at other times). Others, not so bad. It *was* definitely interesting to get a taste of what life was like in Dublin at the time period of the book, and I did laugh when I found out who the man was at the beach watching the girl. It's also at that point that I understood Joyce's choice of the title.

Not an easy read, but it's done.
